GoPC Pty Ltd is an Australian company spun off from Central Data Systems Pty Ltd in 2005.
The team behind GoPC created one of Australia’s most successful Application Service Providers (ASP) and from that base continued innovating. We put everything we had behind building our dream of creating an ultra-low cost desktop-as-a-service over the Internet and in January 2005 released the GoPC Virtual PC. We were first to market.
In 2007 the company raised private and venture capital and established it Silicon Valley office. In 2008 we hooked our first major deal with Yahoo! winning their support to promote the Zimbra email suite on the GoPC.net platform.
June 2008 was the tipping point for cloud computing and within 5 months every vendor in Silicon Valley had adopted cloud in their strategy. We were recognized as one of the leading cloud computing Start-ups. We have continued to innovate and release more sophisticated services in recent years including the virtualised network of desktops and servers all hosted the cloud.
We use open standards and deliver free and open source software at the entry level and rely on channel partnerships with ISPs, IT vendors and consultants to support a global client base.
